About The Classic FASERIP Podcast

The Classic FASERIP Podcast is a show for fans of the TSR Marvel Super Heroes roleplaying game. This is the bright four color game from the 1980s that used the FASERIP ability set and the famous Universal Table for every roll at the table.

When most people talk about Marvel Super Heroes they think of the Advanced boxset, well this podcast is about the Basic Revised Rules boxed set. That set stripped the game down to what you needed to hit the table fast, create heroes, and start punching villains through walls. On this podcast that is our baseline. Rules talk, examples, and house rules all start from the Basic Revised version of the game.

What The Show Covers

You will hear talk about:

The focus stays on practical play. How a Judge can run a session tonight with the Basic Revised Rules, some dice, and a stack of character sheets. Advanced rules, fan material, and later editions may get mentioned, but the heart of the show is the original TSR box that many of us learned on.

Why FASERIP Still Works

Marvel Super Heroes is simple to teach. Players learn the color bands on the Universal Table in a few minutes and can read results for themselves. The FASERIP stats describe heroes in plain language so it is easy to see the difference between a street level vigilante and a cosmic powerhouse.

The Basic Revised Rules keep the game fast. Most actions come down to one roll and a quick ruling from the Judge. That speed lets you focus on the story, the banter, and the big splash panels in your head. The podcast is here to help you squeeze more out of that system and keep it on your table.

New Listeners

If you are new to the game, start with the early episodes that explain what FASERIP is, walk through character creation, and talk about running street level adventures. You can listen in order or pick topics that match the campaign you want to run.

Veterans of the game can skip around to episodes on house rules, specific powers, or discussions of published adventures and classic Marvel storylines. Either way, the goal is simple. Help you keep TSR Marvel Super Heroes alive at your table with clear talk, honest opinions, and plenty of ideas you can steal.
